Products UK Ltd, a company set up in 2004 by inventors and entrepreneurs for
budding new inventors and innovators, providing advice and support at the most
critical early stages.
The founder, Steve Capon, an inventor and innovator himself, was very frustrated
by the way inventors were being portrayed and treated in this country by the
media, ‘so-called’ government support agencies and self promoting experts. Steve very nearly lost
his first invention to one of these ‘experts’ (through their dishonesty), so decided to start a company with only trusted and
professional people, who would treat inventors in an honest and transparent way
and help them to realise their dreams - make money from their invention, either
through commercialisation or selling rights to it.
As a former BBC TV ‘Dragons Den’ exhibitor, he has enlisted the support of three other established, experienced
and award winning inventors (national and international awardees) together with
a skilled specialist team, all experienced in innovation development to help
assess, refine and develop new products.
When you have that “eureka!” moment, for an idea, it feels like there is a great adventure lying ahead but,
in reality, the inventing process is very complex and challenging to get right.
Without the right skills and direction, it is much like doing an expedition
through the jungle in an attempt to find Aztec gold, but without a map!
We use the Aztec gold ‘search’ analogy for good reason, because we have all, as inventing individuals,
embarked on this pioneering journey and each found (to our considerable cost),
it may be exciting, but without a ‘crystal ball’ to help guide you (or very good advice) you can waste a lot of time, money and
even compromise your health.
By pooling our combined experience, of bringing ideas to market successfully and
in business (totalling over 70 years), we can present a balanced and objective
assessment of your invention, determining it’s manufacturability, whether it can be made at the right price, if protectable,
and the product’s commercial potential, with the intention to make, market and sell, and/or
licence it. Confidentiality is very important to us, as is our reputation, so
we will always sign a confidentially agreement before any exchange of ideas.
We have excellent manufacturing relationships in China (established over many
years) and a good knowledge of importing and exporting.
